Silent Yoga & Meditation What to expect? The short answer is exactly what it sounds like — a regular yoga practice with Emma but moved through in silence, with only necessary voice instructions) followed by a stretch of quiet meditation. No instructions shouted over music, rhythmic mindful movement preparing us for silent meditation at the end of class. .

Silence is the language of the heart

Sivananda

Silent yoga and meditation is miraculous. There might be shifts. You notice your breath without being told to. You notice the tight spot in your shoulder you’ve been ignoring, and you consciously release it. You hear whispers from the very deepest parts inside you. That is the voice of your soul.
Then, when our bodies have found a place of ease through yoga posture and breathwork, we sit.
Silent meditation is scary – thoughts will come and go and that’s normal, and completely fine. The idea is just to notice them. Let go of all of them for a while as they come, let them go.

You are invited especially if you have never really sat with silence before and want to try it somewhere safe. Others who attend Yogaspace Yorkshire come as a warm-up for a longer silent retreat, to get a feel for it without committing a whole weekend. Plenty of people just come because a quiet 90 minutes sounded like exactly what they needed.

Silence is a Super-Power

Silent yoga and meditation. You don’t need experience. You don’t need to be “good” at meditating or yoga. You need to be good at one thing, Booking and arriving and showing up for your mat space. The challenge is your mind and that is what this hour is designed for; to release you from the bondage of the mind. We control our mind. It does not control us.
Come for the yoga, discover the silence, hear your secret whispers, feel the solidarity of others sharing the communion of silence.
Leave with a bit more room in your head.
